On invitation from Green Council, HKUGAC celebrated United Nation Environment Programme annual World Environment Day on 5th June, 2014 as our own ‘WED on Thu’. Staff and students were encouraged to wear something green. Highlights of the day included info and survey booths on campus environmental facilities and on Hong Kong’s energy mix, as well as a school forum on plans to cut carbon and ecological footprints.

The survey results for environmental facilities and the forum discussion outcome would be used as a basis for planning on green policies and projects; the opinion on energy mix would be sent to the HKSAR Government as our school response to the current Public Consultation on Future Fuel Mix for Electricity Generation for Hong Kong.
