Cross-disciplinary Curriculum Integration Life-wide Learning Activity

Primary School
08 Jan 2015

A new learning topic, “Exploring The Space”, was introduced to PS’s P.5 students in December. It is also the theme of the “P5 Cross-disciplinary Curriculum Integration Program”.

To enrich students’ life-wide learning experience, our English and General Studies teachers arranged a visit to the Space Museum for the P.5 year-level. This visit was not only a good opportunity for the P5 students to collect information for their GS project, but also a valuable chance for them to gain inspirations in their story description for their English lessons.

Students also watched an interesting movie titled “Secret of the Cardboard Rocket” at the Space Theatre. Under the guidance of a talking astronomy book, two children embarked on a magical journey by travelling on a cardboard rocket around the solar system. During the tour, they visited the Sun, the eight planets and Pluto. They also flew through the Great Red Spot on Jupiter and viewed the Sun and other planets from different vantage points.

To enrich this life-wide learning activity, our Visual Art teachers will also guide the students in making models of different space technologies.
