10 senior form students from HKUGA College, accompanied by their teachers, travelled to Shangri-La, Yunnan on 24 June. Located more than 3,000 metres above sea level, the China Exploration and Research Society’s (CERS) Zhongdian site is a great launching pad to explore the surrounding Tibetan and Lizu areas. Beyond the pleasant weather, the learning opportunities allowed us to see beyond our urban lives and better understand the situation in this part of western China and its inhabitants.
