Opening Ceremony
Our College held its first ever online opening programme on 1 September. The principals, teachers and student council welcomed the whole community to the new school year by introducing the “New Norms” in enhancing our wellbeing and learning in this challenging year.
The ceremony started off with sharing from the 2020 HKUGA Education Foundation Outstanding Student Awardee, Mr. Jacky Lee. Jacky shared his advice on achieving success gained from his 6 years of studies and active participation in various activities at the College.
Since this year has been filled with uncertainty, our Principal, Ms. Corina Chen and the School-based Management Team placed an emphasis on the importance of well-being. They provided some strategies to enhance well-being even during school suspension with online learning. Vice Principal, Ms. Cynthia Lee, then brought our attention to the online school arrangements and some well-being pointers, followed by Head of Activities & Events, Mr. Freddie Sum, introducing various afterschool online learning activities and events the school is offering for students. The 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 Student Council brought the whole-school Opening Programme to the end by showing gratitude to the school for providing students with continuous support on our learning during the school suspension since February. They then reminded students of the Student Council’s promise to support and care through their journey at their secondary school life.
This year’s opening programme is marked by its uniqueness and innovation. Despite the challenges the school suspension has posed on everyone, this special opening programme displays the capability of our school community to adapt and overcome challenges in the face of adversity.
