Back
02 Mar 2013

A tour to the Jao Tsung-I Academy (the former Lai Chi Kok Hospital) and Sham Shui Po was organized for members on 2 March (Saturday). It was a great success and highly rated by the 32 participants.

A guided tour was organized by the Academy. There was a walk-through of the Gallery, with an introduction of Professor Jao’s artistic and academic achievements. We also learnt about the history of the site and its architectural features.

Sham Shui Po was the next scenic spot in the tour. It was co-led and narrated by Dr. Joseph Ting and Mr. Jimmy Lo. The route started from the Savannah College of Art and Design, which was the former North Kowloon Magistracy, and covered the Precious Blood Hospital, Yee Kuk Street, Tin Hau Temple, Sham Shui Po Police Station, Apliu Street, Fuk Wa Street and finally ended at Tim Ho Wan Restaurant.

It was a relaxing weekend stroll in Sham Shui Po for the participants to learn about the history and stories of the vicinities in Sham Shui Po.
