Life & Career Education Project 2012-2013

Back
01 Sep 2012 - 31 Aug 2013

This is the first year of the LEAP for S4 and S5 students since the pioneer project was successfully organized last year. The project is organized by the Foundation and supported by the Education Bureau, which recommended and liaised with five schools in Tseung Kwan O to participate:

  • HHCKLA Buddhist Ching Kok Secondary School
  • HKTA Yuen Yuen Institute No. 3 Secondary School
  • POH 80th Anniversary Tang Ying Hei College
  • TKO Government Secondary School
  • WEO Chang Pui Chung Memorial School

This project aims to enable 150 students to learn, through direct dialogue in groups with mentors, essential and positive attitudes and strategies in finding their right career path.  It is hoped that the mentors will share with the students their personal experience in career advancement – how they set their goals and direction, how they make disciplined efforts in self-improvement and find ways to adapt to and grow with the changing demands in the working environment.

The project mentors are mainly middle management staff members from the following companies and industries and we highly appreciate their support:

  • CLP Power Hong Kong
  • Fung (1906) Foundation Limited
  • Hang Seng Bank
  • Haven of Hope Christian Service
  • Holiday Inn Golden Mile

A Program Briefing Session was successfully held on February 2 with 31 mentors and teachers attending. The Briefing conducted by Vivien Pau was very well-received and the feedback by the participants was positive.
