A one-day tour to the Sai Kung Volcanic Rock Region of Hong Kong Global Geopark was organized on 7 May (Sunday). The event was well-attended by 39 members and their families, and guests, including adults and young children, and a few foreign students.

The tour was led by two Recommended Geopark Guides (R2G) to visit the Volcanic Rock Region by boat and hiking, and the route was: Sai Kung Public Pier --> Jin Island (hexagonal rock columns sea arches) --> Bluff Island (hexagonal rock columns and sea arches) --> Fa Shan --> Po Pin Chau ( part of Fa Shan) --> High Island Reservoir East Dam --> High Island (Yau Ley Seafood Restaurant lunch) --> Pak Lap Stones Beach --> Pak Lap Beach --> High Island Tin Hau Temple --> High Island Reservoir West Dam --> Sai Kung Public Pier.

Through the guides’ articulated introduction, the participants, beside appreciating the scenery, enhanced their understanding of the plants, lives and history of the park and also shared the importance in conserving nature and cultural heritage.
