The 25th Anniversary Dinner
BackThe 25th Annual Dinner of the Foundation took place on 9 January at The Langham Hotel. The Dinner was a wonderful gathering, with all 25 tables filled as we celebrated our silver jubilee alongside our members, school leaders, parents, alumni, and friends. We were honoured to have Professor Jay Siegel, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning), The University of Hong Kong, as our Guest of Honour to deliver an insightful speech titled "What Should Be Learnt for the Future?"
The evening kicked off magnificently with a choir performance featuring more than 100 students. The event was brilliantly emceed by two alumni, Timothy Lam and Allie To, led by EXCO member Keith Kiu.
During the dinner, guests enjoyed inspiring remarks from two distinguished HKUGA College alumni: Bill Chan (from our 1st cohort, graduated in 2012, now a Lecturer at Lingnan University) and Perry Wong (Class of 2021, currently studying Law at the Chinese University of Hong Kong), who reflected on their journeys at the College and the impact of their school years on their personal growth.
A highlight of the night was the three-bottle souvenir pack commemorating EF's journey since 2000. It included a rice bottle representing the Adventure-based Life Education (ABLE) Programme, a seed bottle containing Philosophical Inquiry (PI) questions, and a large bottle in which adding water magically reveals our Students' Voices.
The dinner concluded on a festive and heartwarming note with the HKU Centenary Celebrations Song "Brighten Me with Virtues". The Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to all who attended for their enthusiastic participation and support, which made our 25th Anniversary milestone such a resounding success!
