22nd AGM and Anniversary DinnerBack
The 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Foundation was held on 9 December (Friday) at East Ocean Lafayette in Causeway Bay. The Meeting approved the audited accounts and the Executive Committee (ExCo) Report for 2022.
We were honoured to have Professor YANG Rui, Dean of Education of the University of Hong Kong, as our Guest of Honour to deliver a speech to share his experiences and views in the education profession and also education development in the Greater Bay Area. Professor Cheng Kai Ming was the first to respond! Our Foundation Chairman Dr Kenneth Tse, members and guests were keen to engage themselves in the professional dialogue with Professor Yang .
At the Dinner, we were so pleased to find 13 tables all full, almost doubling the number we had in the past. Our Foundation veterans, core members and new members got together. Some members invited friends to share the joy, including the Foundation’s Honorary Advisor Professor Cheng Kai Ming, the Tin Ka Ping Foundation Chairman Mr Sam Tin and Vice Chairman Mr Tai Hay Lap, our major donor Mrs Eliza Fok and many senior education professionals in Hong Kong. Senior staff of our two schools also participated. A joyful reunion for many and a merry party for all!
During the Dinner, the Foundation’s Vice-chairman Mr Andrew Fung shared some thoughts about its 20th Anniversary commemorative book titled “明德格物 共圓21世紀教育夢 — 一群港大校友在辦學路上” . Books were presented for sale with complimentary bouquets of rice spike. The rice spike was the harvest of the ABLE (Adventure-based Life Education) RICE Programme of HKUGA College. The promotion activity received overwhelming response from guests, with $16,700 collected for the books sold and self-initiated givings. What a rejoice!
The Foundation appreciates the participation and support from all members who made this event a great success.
Happy New Year! Wishing you good health and prosperity in the Year of the Rabbit!
